LITURGICAL MINISTRIES

 

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS

Parishioners share the Eucharist with others.

They visit the homebound and the infirm and assist with the Eucharist at daily and weekend masses. Contact: Msgr.Bauhoff

 

LECTORS

Parishioners assist with readings and announcements at daily and weekend masses. Contact: Jack Stein, leave message at Church office, (516)334-6288

 

JUNIOR LECTORS

Young parishioners, minimum of grade 6, who assist with Scripture readings and announcements at the 10 a.m. mass on Sunday, which is our Family Liturgy. Contact: Church office. (516)334-6288

 

ADULT CHOIR. CHILDREN'S CHOIR AND CANTORS Parishioners sing at one Mass per weekend and at special celebrations. They are our leaders of song and a critical part of our celebration of the liturgy. Contact: Ray Henderson, (516)334-6288 ext. 19

 

ALTAR SERVERS

Adult altar servers assist Father with daily mass and funerals. Younger altar servers assist with weekend masses, weddings and special celebrations.

Servers must be, at a minimum, in the fourth grade. Contact: Church office, (516)334-6288

 

USHERS

Parishioners help with seating, collections, bulletin distribution and crowd flow. They also welcome parishioners to Mass each weekend.

 

SOCIAL MINISTRIES

 

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL

Parishioners offer assistance to those within our community who are in need, whether it is clothing, furniture, food. help with public assistance. etc. They help with physical needs out of a spiritual vision. Contact: Church office, (516)334-6288 Ext. 18

 

FOOD PANTRY

Our Food Pantry serves the needy of our parish. They collect. maintain and distribute food on a bi-weekly basis They also prepare holiday baskets for the less fortunate in our area. Their efforts benefit not only our parish but surrounding communities.

 

FAITH AND SPIRITUAL FORMATION

 

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CATECHISTS

Parishioners teach faith and doctrine of the Catholic Church to the children of our parish beginning at age 3. They help prepare our children for the sacraments they will receive.  Contact: Donna Manley, Religious Education Office,

RCIA/ADULT FORMATION

This is a ministry which invites all of us to help. The RCI assists with the formation of adults wanting to become. initiated in the Catholic Church.

ROSARY ALTAR SOCIETY

This society helps develop the spiritual life of the women of our parish. Their meetings provide a social and educational outlet for women with a prayerful devotion to Mary being the primary focus. The Society also maintains the liturgical linens and overall cleanliness of the sanctuary. Their charitable works benefit those in and out of the parish.
